The University of Milan takes part in the project with 2 units:

1) School of Plastic Surgery, University of Milan

U.O.C.       Surgery of the Hand – H St. Joseph Milano / IRCCS MultiMedica Director Prof Giorgio Pajardi

The activity is organized and ambulatory surgical operating rooms of 22 and 220 clinic hours per week, with an annual series of 6,800 surgical procedures

Pediatric disease: congenital malformations of the upper and lower limb (syndactyly, simbrachidattilia, polydactyly, agenesis, camptodactyly, epidermolysis bullosa, hypoplasia, arthrogryposis, etc.), constriction syndrome, traumatic pathology. Pathologies of wrist: fractures, pseudoarthrosis, dislocations, ligament injuries, osteoarthritis. Nervous system disorders: traumatic plexus palsy and midwives, compressive syndromes of the peripheral nervous system (sd carpal tunnel syndrome, compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow and the Guyon, thoracic outlet).

Hemiplegia: results of spastic paresis in stroke, trauma and cerebral palsy.

Microsurgery:  replanting  of  upper  and  lower  limbs,  complex  reconstructions  with  free  flaps  in  post-traumatic disorders, metabolic or infectious.

Inflammatory  diseases:  trigger  finger,  De  Quervain’s  disease,  epicondylitis,  tenosynovitis.  Dupuytren’s  disease: collagenase treatment or surgery.

Our U.O.C. There is also a dedicated specialist rehabilitation service

The number of employees is as follows: Surgeons: 7 and 8 structured graduate

Therapists: 18 8 physiotherapists and occupational therapists
